Back at work after a very necessary weekend at home. I’ve lately gotten into the routine of going out and drinking and getting to bed late and not getting enough sleep. It’s mostly because I’m trying really damn hard to be social and not close myself off, but I really don’t like myself or my thoughts when I get into those habits. This weekend was very helpful for pulling myself out of that funk!
I just relaxed with my parents mostly. It was a pretty rainy weekend so we watched some movies, went out to my favorite restaurants, cooked, played music, and baked pumpkin cookies. And during the reprieves from shitty weather, I first went with my mom to walk the dogs at this lovely little park and historical site we frequent. And then the next day I went paddle boarding with my dad. He brought Zora and we paddled over to the beach. Along the way, I encountered quite a few HUGE manatees that surprised me right under the board. They are just such wonderful animals :) We watched dolphins fishing in the shallows and tossing the fish everywhere in the air. And one pretty sizable dolphin took an interest in my board. It swam under me a few times, even starting to touch the board as it went by. I was bracing myself for it to knock me off, but luckily it got bored and left before it came to that! At the beach I found a bunch of sharks teeth.
We saw the most amazing sunset as well! I’ll most some more pictures of that. It was after we had gone out to dinner and my dad didn’t really want to go but I annoyed him until we went to the beach, and the sunset was well worth it.
